Am I Pregnant? Early Signs Of Pregnancy
Detecting the early signs of pregnancy can be tricky, the reason is that many symptoms of pregnancy are similar to symptoms of other things. Therefore, there is no one symptom that will tell you that you are definitely pregnant. There are signs that you could be though. Ultimately, the only way to know for sure is to take a test and see a doctor. However, here are some early signs that you might be pregnant.
Changes in Menstruation
This is the biggest sign that you might be pregnant. When you become pregnant, your period will not be regular. You are not likely to experience a period at all, though there may be some light bleeding. If your period is late or irregular, it is a good indication that you might be pregnant. Periods can fluctuate, so wait a few days before taking a test. Things like stress, dieting, and medications can cause changes in your menstrual cycle. You always want to consider them. However, it is a good idea to take a test.
This occurs after an embryo attaches itself to the uterine wall. It can be experienced as soon as a week after conception. Not every woman will experience this though. Generally, this is light bleeding that occurs earlier than your expected period. Again, just because you experience early bleeding does not mean you are pregnant. It is a sign though.
This is another tricky one. Women can experience tender breasts around the time of their regular period. Therefore, it may seem perfectly normal to you. For pregnant women, the tenderness starts a week or two after conception. It may not be a sign that tells you are pregnant, but it is something you want to monitor.
Obviously, this can occur for almost any reason. Fatigue is a symptom of stress, illness, sleep deprivation, and many other things. However, it is also an early sign of pregnancy. It can be felt days after conception. If you feel yourself feeling exceedingly tired for reasons you can’t understand, pregnancy is a possibility.
When you are pregnant, the changing of your uterus can cause changes in your bladder. Therefore, you may be going to the bathroom more often than normal. This is usually detected a few weeks after conception. You may not even notice that you are going to the bathroom more, but others might. It can be a sign of many things, but make sure you pay attention to it if it seems unusual.
This is the common term for nausea associated with pregnancy. Typically, it does not start until about a month after conception. However, some may notice it within two weeks. Others won’t notice it for several months if at all. In any case, nausea can be caused by any number of things. Usually, by the time you experience morning sickness you will be experiencing other pregnancy symptoms.
There are many other symptoms that occur throughout pregnancy, but these are the most common early ones. Remember, these symptoms can be caused by many things beside pregnancy. If you notice one or several of them and think you might be pregnant, take a test or visit your doctor.
